After coming from behind to tie the score in the eighth inning, the Mariners finally prevailed over the Tigers in the 11th, 4-3. Trailing, 3-1, in the eighth, the Mariners tied the game on consecutive doubles by Julio Cruz and Steve Braun and a single by Dan Meyer.

Leon Roberts led off the 11th with a double but was thrown out at the plate trying to score on Larry Milbourne's single. Milbourne advanced to third on Bob Stinson's single and scored on Cruz's single. [The Sporting News]
