Overcoming a three-run deficit in the late innings, the Braves rallied for a 6-5 decision over the Mets. The winning rally came in the eighth when Brian Asselstine led off with a triple and scored the tying run on a single by Jeff Burroughs. Barry Bonnell, the pinch-runner for Burroughs, moved to second on a balk by reliever Skip Lockwood and scored when Biff Pocoroba hit a double into the bullpen. The Mets led, 5-2, entering the bottom of the sixth but Burroughs' sacrifice fly plated a tally in the sixth and Jerry Royster singled home a seventh-inning run. Royster earlier had a double and triple and scored twice.
