A two-run triple by Bruce Bochte and two-run homer by Leon Roberts broke a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning and enabled the Mariners to top the Blue Jays, 9-7. The Mariners had a 5-1 lead going into the top of the eighth but the Jays tied the game on Rick Bosetti's first grand slam homer of his major league career. Mariner starter Dick Pole pitched perfect ball for 6 1/3 innings, but Bob Bailor ended the string with a solo homer. [The Sporting News]
