. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Red Sox posted their seventh straight victory, edging the Royals, 4-3. The Sox built a 2-0 lead in the second inning on RBI singles by Rick Burleson and Jerry Remy, but the Royals tied the game in the seventh when Clint Hurdle was hit by a pitch and Amos Otis followed with a homer.

Remy led off the bottom of the seventh with a triple and Jim Rice then blasted his 10th circuit clout of the season. The Royals' final run resulted from a passed ball. The Red Sox upped their home record to 16-3. [The Sporting News]
