The Indians took advantage of Mariners' errors to erase a 4-1 deficit and come away with a 5-4 triumph. With two out in the Tribe seventh, Mariner shortstop Craig Reynolds let Duane Kuiper's grounder go through him to permit one run to score and his wild throw on pinch-hitter Paul Dade's grounder let the Indians' third and fourth runs cross the plate to tie the game. In the bottom of the ninth, the Indians scored the game-winner when Larvell Blanks singled, advanced to second on a walk and scored on Mike Vail's liner over third with two out.
