. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A two-run single by Ted Cox broke a tie and triggered the Indians to a 6-1 triumph over the Mariners. With the score knotted, 1-1, in the fourth inning, Buddy Bell led off with a single and Andre Thornton walked. Both runners moved up on Mike Vail's sacrifice and Willie Horton was intentionally walked to fill the bases. Cox then lined a 1-1 pitch into left field.

The Mariners got off to a 1-0 lead in the third on a run-scoring single by Craig Reynolds, but the Indians tied it in their turn when Ron Pruitt homered. A triple by Vail and single by Willie Horton produced another Indian run in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
