. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Making up for his error, Andre Thornton batted in two runs with a two-out single in the sixth inning to give the Indians a 2-1 victory over the Angels. Carney Lansford singled in the fifth and scored the Angels' run on a wild pitch and Thornton's boot of a ground ball by Rick Miller.

Starting the Indians' comeback in the sixth, Ron Hassey singled and Rick Manning beat out a bunt. Jim Norris forced Hassey. After Buddy Bell flied out, Manning taking third after the catch, Norris stole second. Thornton then became the hero instead of the goat with his single. [The Sporting News]
