. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A wild throw by rookie second baseman Jim Morrison in the ninth inning allowed the Reds to score the winning run in a 4-3 victory over the Phillies. After Mike Schmidt hit a three-run homer in the eighth to put the Phillies ahead, 3-2, Ken Griffey led off the Reds' ninth with a double and both Ray Knight and Pete Rose walked to load the bases. Joe Morgan then forced Rose, Griffey scoring, and when Morrison uncorked his wild throw, trying for a double play, pinch-runner Dave Collins also crossed the plate. [The Sporting News]
