. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Pitching his first complete game of the season and backed by Milt May's three-run homer, Jim Slaton hurled the Tigers to a 4-2 verdict over the Mariners. May's circuit clout came in the bottom of the fourth with the Tigers trailing, 2-1, and Rusty Staub and Jason Thompson on base.

Thompson gave the Tigers their initial tally with an RBI single in the first. A pair of sacrifice flies sandwiched around two walks and a double by Bruce Bochte produced two Mariner runs in the fourth frame. [The Sporting News]
