Julio Cruz and Craig Reynolds batted in two runs apiece to pace the Mariners to a 6-4 victory over the Rangers. Cruz accounted for his RBIs with a bases-loaded single in the fifth inning and another run followed on a sacrifice fly by Bruce Bochte to put the Mariners ahead, 3-2. After the Rangers tied the score, the Mariners came back with two runs in the seventh. Bill Stein singled and, after a sacrifice, Cruz walked. Reynolds singled, scoring Stein, and Ruppert Jones also singled to drive in Cruz. Reynolds hit another single in the eighth to produce an insurance marker. Juan Beniquez homered for the Rangers.
