. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Snapping his personal three-game losing streak, Rick Wise pitched a four-hitter to lead the Indians to a 5-1 triumph over the Yankees. Dick Tidrow, who started for the Yanks, was chased in the sixth inning.

Tom Veryzer led off with a single, took second on a sacrifice and scored on a two-out single by Buddy Bell. Bell reached second on his hit when center fielder Mickey Rivers threw wildly to the plate and scored on a single by Wayne Cage. In the eighth inning, Andre Thornton hit a two-run pinch-single and Rick Manning an RBI single to provide insurance. [The Sporting News]
