. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Pounding out 17 hits, the Mariners enjoyed a 7-3 romp over the Yankees, handing the Bronx Bombers their sixth defeat in the last seven games. A homer by Ruppert Jones gave the Mariners a 1-0 lead in the first and they collected three more runs in the second, scores coming on a fielder's choice grounder by Juan Bernhardt, single by Craig Reynolds and double by Jones.

A homer by Leroy Stanton in the third made it 5-0. The Mariners added a run in the fourth on a throwing error by Ed Figueroa and scored another in the fifth on Bernhardt's RBI single. [The Sporting News]
