Handing reliever Mike Marshall his fifth consecutive defeat after an opening win, the Indians prevailed over the Twins, 2-1, in 10 innings. Marshall took over for starter Gary Serum in the 10th and immediately yielded a triple to Buddy Bell. After one out, Marshall issued a pair of walks to fill the bases and Ted Cox then drove the ball against the center field fence to end the game.
