. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Unleashing a 16-hit bombardment, the Angels outslugged the Yankees, 9-6. Lyman Bostock, with 24 hits in 49 at-bats during his 11-game hitting streak, drove in two runs with a pair of singles. The Angels trailed, 4-3, going into the bottom of the fifth but began a four-run uprising when Yankee shortstop Fred Stanley booted a grounder by Joe Rudi. The inning was capped by a two-run single by Brian Downing with the bases loaded. [The Sporting News]
