. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Orioles won their 11th consecutive game, 5-4, over the Mariners. The score was 4-4 in the seventh inning when the Birds broke through for the winning tally. A single by Billy Smith, sacrifice by Rick Dempsey and single by Larry Harlow provided the winning margin.

The Orioles had taken an early 4-0 lead on a three-run homer by Eddie Murray in the third and solo round-tripper by Ken Singleton in the sixth. The Mariners tied the score in the seventh on a three-run homer by John Hale and an RBI double by Craig Reynolds. [The Sporting News]
