In a game called by rain in the seventh inning, the Expos defeated the Mets, 2-1. The first Expo run came in the second inning on a homer by Ellis Valentine, but the Mets tied the score in the bottom of the frame on a triple by Steve Henderson and single by John Stearns. The winning run for the Expos came in the fifth when Gary Carter singled, Chris Speier reached first on an error and Steve Rogers lined a single to right. [The Sporting News]
