Ineffective relief pitching by Mike Marshall enabled the Angels to down the Twins, 4-2, in 12 innings. The Twins, led, 2-0, going into the seventh when Rance Mulliniks and Rick Miller got singles. Marshall relieved starter Gary Serum and gave up a walk to Dave Machemer and a two-run single to Joe Rudi.

In the 12th frame, Lyman Bostock singled off Marshall with one out. After Rudi went down on strikes, Dan Baylor, Ken Landreaux and Ron Jackson pounded successive singles to give the Angels two runs and their winning margin. [The Sporting News]
