Lary Sorensen, the league leader in innings pitched with 138, scattered nine hits in recording his 10th victory and ninth complete game as the Brewers whipped the Twins, 8-2. The Twins led, 2-1, going into the bottom of the sixth but the Brewers erupted for three runs to assume the lead.

Don Money opened with a single and Dick Davis followed with a home run. Ben Oglivie then tripled and was driven home on a single by Sal Bando. Oglivie capped a four-run explosion in the seventh stanza with a two-run homer. [The Sporting News]
