. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Splitting one-run decisions, the Tigers won the opener of a twi-night doubleheader, 4-3, and the Indians captured the second game, 2-1. An error by Indian third baseman Ted Cox set the stage for a three-run Tiger third inning in the first game. After Mark Wagner reached first on Cox' miscue, Steve Dillard singled and Wagner scored on a single by Ron LeFlore. A sacrifice fly by Steve Kemp plated Dillard and a single by Aurelio Rodriguez scored LeFlore. LeFlore singled home the Tigers' final tally in the fourth.

The Indians' winning run in the nightcap came across in the sixth inning on a walk to Rick Manning, a sacrifice, and a single by Andre Thornton. [The Sporting News]
