. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Taking over first place in the A. L. West, the A's topped the Mariners, 5-3, on a ninth-inning home run by Mario Guerrero. The A's led, 3-1, going into the bottom of the seventh, but the Mariners tied the contest with a pair of runs driven in on an infield out by Bill Stein and a single by Larry Milbourne. Guerrero's game-winning clout was preceded by an infield single by Dave Revering. [The Sporting News]
