. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The batting of Ron LeFlore, who drove in two runs and scored two, paced the Tigers to a 5-1 victory over the Rangers. After Steve Kemp homered for the Tigers in the second inning, the Rangers nicked Milt Wilcox for their only run in the third when Bobby Thompson tripled and Bobby Bonds singled.

LeFlore broke the tie in the sixth with a two-run triple that followed passes to Phil Mankowski and Alan Trammell. LeFlore scored himself on a single by Lou Whitaker. In the eighth, LeFlore singled, stole second, and crossed the plate with the final run on a single by Rusty Staub. [The Sporting News]
