. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Backed by the Indians' 16-hit attack, Rick Wise breezed to an 11-1 victory over the A's. The Indians' hits included a three-run homer by Andre Thornton in the seventh inning and a two-run drive by Johnny Grubb in the eighth. Wise lost his bid for a shutout when the A's counted in the ninth on a double by Willie Horton and single by Jeff Newman. [The Sporting News]
