A bases-loaded double by Rich Dauer produced two of the Orioles' four runs in the seventh inning and enabled Jim Palmer to defeat the Angels, 5-4, for his 13th victory. Eddie Murray homered in the first for the Orioles, but the Angels rebounded with four runs in the fourth, three scoring on a double by Brian Downing.

In the Orioles' seventh, an error, a walk and a single by Lee May resulted in one run. After a pass to Terry Crowley loaded the bases, Mike Anderson also walked to force in the second run of the rally before Dauer capped it with his double. [The Sporting News]
