With rookie Larry McWilliams winning his fourth straight game and Bob Horner leading the attack with two RBIs, the Braves achieved a 3-2 decision over the Astros. After a homer by Bob Watson put the Astros ahead, 1-0, in the second inning, the Braves tied it in the bottom of the frame on a triple by Jeff Burroughs and single by Horner.

The Braves went ahead, 2-1, in the third on a double by Rowland Office and single by Gary Matthews. The final Atlanta tally came in the sixth when Office doubled, advanced to third on a flyout by Burroughs and scored on a sacrifice fly by Horner. [The Sporting News]
