Winning their fourth straight game, the Rangers defeated the Tigers, 9-4. A four-run fifth-inning was highlighted by a two-run single by Bump Wills and two-run double by Bobby Bonds. Jim Sundberg belted a two-run homer in the seventh and Bonds clouted a solo round-tripper in the ninth to complete the scoring. [The Sporting News]
