. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A grand slam by Tim Corcoran -- his first home run in 79 games this season -- lifted the Tigers to a 5-2 victory over the Rangers. The Tigers trailed, 2-1, going into the bottom of the eighth when Jim Umbarger took over the mound chores for the Rangers. A double by Rusty Staub, single by Jason Thompson and walk to Steve Kemp loaded the sacks before Corcoran slammed an 0-2 pitch into the upper deck in right field. [The Sporting News]
