The A's got three-hit pitching from Rick Langford and won the first game of a twi-night doubleheader, 2-0, but the Twins came back to gain a split with a 3-2 victory in the second game. Mario Guerrero doubled in the fourth inning of the opener, stopped at third on a single by Dave Revering and scored the A's initial run as Taylor Duncan grounded into a double play. Singles by Jim Essian and Mike Edwards and a sacrifice fly by Joe Wallis added the other run in the seventh.

In the nightcap, the A's tied the score in the sixth on a triple by Mitchell Page, single by Willie Horton and double by Guerrero. The Twins replied with their winning run in the seventh when Hosken Powell doubled and Glenn Borgmann singled. [The Sporting News]
