. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Tight pitching by Gary Serum and Roger Erickson enabled the Twins to post a doubleheader sweep over the A's, 3-1 and 2-1. In the first game, singles by Dan Ford, Mike Cubbage and Glenn Adams in the second inning produced the Twins' initial run. In the third, Rod Carew beat out a bunt, reached second when catcher Jim Essian threw wildly to first and tallied on a single by Cubbage. Roy Smalley singled in the seventh for the Twins' final tally.

The second game was 1-1 going into the bottom of the eighth when Cubbage drew a one-out walk, advanced to second on a groundout and tallied the winning run on a single by Butch Wynegar. [The Sporting News]
