With Dave Parker and John Milner combining to drive in five runs, the Pirates downed the Reds, 7-4, the Reds' fourth loss in their last five games. Parker smashed a two-run homer with Omar Moreno aboard via a single in the second inning. He also singled home Frank Taveras in the fourth frame.

Milner had an RBI single and scored on a single by Manny Sanguillen in the first inning and had a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Moreno doubled in Taveras for the other run in the first. [The Sporting News]
