. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A two-run rally in the seventh inning carried the Royals past the Tigers, 4-2. The Royals trailed, 2-1, going into the top of the seventh and tied the game when Clint Hurdle doubled and scored as left fielder Steve Kemp muffed a single by Al Cowens. A single by Freddie Patek advanced Cowens to second and a single by Steve Braun gave the Royals a 3-2 edge. Darrell Porter led off the Royal ninth with a homer for an insurance tally.
