After working out of a bases-loaded, none-out jam in the first inning, Dennis Leonard pitched the Royals to a 3-0 victory over the Rangers. Fergie Jenkins, hurling for the Rangers, did not allow a hit through the first three innings but then went down to defeat when Pete LaCock singled and Clint Hurdle homered in the fourth.
