. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A triple by Lou Whitaker was the big blow as the Tigers beat the Blue Jays, 5-2, snapping Toronto's club record five-game winning streak. The score was 1-1 going into the bottom of the third when Alan Trammell and Ron LeFlore stroked singles. Whitaker slammed a triple and continued home without stopping when right fielder Otto Velez had trouble picking up the ball and was charged with an error. [The Sporting News]
