. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Hitting a homer and two doubles, Al Woods drove in four runs to pace the Blue Jays to a 7-3 victory over the Twins. The Blue Jays settled the issue quickly with four runs in the first inning. With one out, Bob Bailor singled, took third on a single by Roy Howell and scored when Willie Horton forced Howell. John Mayberry then singled and Woods followed with a three-run homer. Woods added his fourth RBI with a double in the eighth.

Since this was the only day game on the schedule, it was the first to be affected by the strike of umpires. Coaches Jerry Zimmerman of the Twins and Don Leppert of the Blue Jays worked at second and third bases, helping two amateur umpires, before they were replaced in the second inning by a third umpire from the Toronto Area Junior Baseball League.
