Hector Cruz, who led the Giants' attack, doubled in the second inning and scored on another two-bagger by Johnnie LeMaster. Cruz then homered in the fourth.

After Fryman left in the fifth, Wayne Twitchell walked Cruz with the bases loaded to force in the Giants' third run. Their last tally resulted from two errors by Larry Parrish on the same play in the seventh. Gary Carter homered for the Expos' run. [The Sporting News]
