Homers by Reggie Jackson and Chris Chambliss spearheaded the attack as the Yankees defeated the Mariners, 6-2, for their eighth victory in the last nine games. Jackson rapped his round-tripper with a man on base in the first inning to mark his 11th season with 20 or more homers. Chambliss connected for the circuit in the fourth.
