. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A four-run outburst in the second inning helped Jim Slaton gain his career high 15th victory as the Tigers defeated the Indians, 6-3. The Tigers' first two tallies came on singles by Alan Trammell and Ron LeFlore before Lou Whitaker added a pair with a triple. Slaton, who gave up 10 hits, ran out of steam with one out in the ninth and John Hiller relieved for his 12th save. [The Sporting News]
