The first grand slam of Mitchell Page's major league career highlighted the A's 11-4 victory over the Rangers. The A's had a 4-3 lead going into the sixth inning when they added two runs and had the bases loaded before Page smashed his homer off Jon Matlack to make the score 10-3. Seven of the A's runs were unearned as the Rangers fell down in their support of Matlack. Kurt Bevacqua committed three errors and Bump Wills one. Al Oliver had three hits in a losing cause.
