A pair of two-run homers by Dave Parker powered the Pirates to a 5-1 triumph over the Phillies in a game delayed twice by rain for a total of 2½ hours. John Candelaria was hit by a pitch to open the sixth inning and, with two out, Parker broke the 1-1 tie with a round-tripper. His second circuit clout came in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
