. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Every starting batter in the Tigers' lineup except Rusty Staub participated in the 16-hit attack that beat the Indians, 10-4. Although going 0-for-3, Staub scored two runs. Lance Parrish rapped a double and three singles.

The Tigers clinched the decision with five runs in the ninth inning. Parrish and Aurelio Rodriguez hit doubles, driving in two runs apiece, and Dave Stegman accounted for the fifth run of the frame with another double. Ron Pruitt homered as the Indians rallied for three runs in the ninth to chase Milt Wilcox before John Hiller came in to retire the last two batters. [The Sporting News]
