Mike Colbern led a 15-hit attack with four singles and Ralph Garr addded a double and triple as the White Sox defeated the Angels, 9-6. Harry Chappas knocked in three runs for the Pale Hose with a pair of sacrifice flies and a single.

Steve Trout, the son of former major league pitcher Dizzy Trout, gained his third straight victory although chased in the seventh inning when the Angels struck for four runs, three scoring on a homer by Don Baylor. [The Sporting News]
