The first career homer by Willie Aikens triggered the Angels to a 7-1 victory over the Twins. Aikens' two-run blast came in the second inning to give the Angels a 2-0 lead. He also doubled in the fourth frame, scoring on a two-base hit by Bobby Grich, and had a sacrifice fly in the fifth to climax a three-run rally.
