In uniform although still recovering from strep throat, Richie Zisk came up as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning and delivered a two-run homer to beat the Tigers, 7-5, for the Rangers' sixth straight victory in the club's best start in its eight-year history.

With one out in the eighth, Nelson Norman drew a pass from Steve Baker. The Tigers summoned John Hiller from the bullpen. Zisk then batted for Mike Jorgensen and hit his dramatic homer on Hiller's first pitch. [The Sporting News]
