Winning his third straight game, Mike Caldwell outdueled Jim Palmer as the Brewers picked up a 4-2 decision over the Orioles. The Brewers scored in the first inning on singles by Cecil Cooper and Larry Hisle and a double by Sixto Lezcano. They added another in the third on a walk to Paul Molitor, double by Robin Yount and grounder by Cooper. Hisle connected for a two-run homer in the eighth.

The Orioles' runs came in the ninth on a leadoff homer by Eddie Murray, double by Doug DeCinces and singles by Gary Roenicke and Rick Dempsey, but Caldwell induced Rich Dauer to bounce into a game-ending double play. [The Sporting News]
