The Red Sox trundled out their heavy artillery to bombard the Indians, 14-4. George Scott had a two-run single in the first inning and a triple by Jerry Remy and single by Rick Burleson produced another pair in the second.

Burleson also had a two-run single to cap a three-run third inning. Fred Lynn hit a two-run homer in the sixth. A two-run double by Carl Yastrzemski, RBI double by Gary Allenson and sacrifice fly by Jim Rice highlighted a five-run seventh. [The Sporting News]
