Making his first appearance at Olympic Stadium, Bill Lee stymied the Cubs on two hits as the Expos blanked Chicago, 2-0, the third shutout suffered by the Cubs in six starts this season. Lee retired the first 16 batters he faced, pitching perfect ball until Barry Foote broke the string with a one-out single in the sixth.

The other Cubs' hit was a two-out infield single by Bill Buckner in the ninth. The Expo runs came on a solo homer by Warren Cromartie in the first and a double and a run-scoring single by Gary Carter in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
