Paced by Rod Carew, who had two doubles, two singles and two RBIs, the Angels roared to their seventh straight victory, beating the Twins, 11-6. Carew's first two-bagger came in the Angels' five-run second inning and scored Rance Mulliniks and Rick Miller.

The Angels led by only 8-6 going into the eighth inning, but put the game away with a three-run outburst. Willie Aikens drove in a pair with a double and Don Baylor stroked a run-scoring single. [The Sporting News]
