Completing the three-game series sweep, the A's defeated the Mariners, 5-2. The score was 2-2 going into the seventh inning when the A's picked up three runs. A single by Larry Murray, double by Jim Essian and intentional walk to Wayne Gross loaded the bases.

One run scored on a single by Rob Picciolo and two more came across when Mariner shortstop Mario Mendoza booted a grounder by Miguel Dilone. The crowd of 1,215 gave Oakland a total of only 4,806 for the Seattle series. [The Sporting News]
