Ending their six-game losing streak, the Orioles prevailed over the Yankees, 6-3, as Jim Palmer picked up his 217th career victory. After spotting the Yankees a 3-1 lead, the Orioles tied the game in the third inning on a two-run single by Ken Singleton and went ahead in the fifth when Singleton doubled and Lee May singled.
