Extending their winning streak to eight games -- their longest in 15 years -- the Angels came from behind to defeat the Twins, 6-4. The Twins led, 4-3, entering the eighth inning. but reliever Mike Marshall walked Rod Carew to lead off the frame and then hit Don Baylor with a pitch. A sacrifice by Joe Rudi advanced the runners and after Willie Aikens flied out, a single by Brian Downing scored Carew and Baylor. A solo homer by Carney Lansford in the ninth inning provided an insurance tally. [The Sporting News] |
