Backed by catcher Jim Sundberg, who drove in four of the Rangers' runs, Fergie Jenkins beat the Yankees, 5-0, posting the 45th shutout of his major league career. Sundberg hit a two-run triple off Catfish Hunter in the second inning and scored himself on a sacrifice fly by Pat Putnam.
